Wallbox sells about 51,000 chargers for electric cars in the first quarter of 2022

Wallbox closed the first quarter of the year with revenues of 28.3 million euros, which is almost three times more (+192%) than in the same period last year.

The company has explained that it sold nearly 51,000 chargers (+180%) and that it reached gross margins of 41.4%.

Between January and March of this year, the Spanish company recorded operating losses amounting to 19.41 million euros, while the gross operating result (Ebitda) was also negative by 15.77 million euros.

During the first three months of the year, Wallbox presented the Quasar 2 charger; announced strategic partnerships with Napa Auto Parts, Polaris, City Electric and Best Buy Canada, and added 104 new employees.

The CEO of the company, Enric Asunción, explained that Wallbox “has exceeded expectations” during the first quarter of the year and that the evolution of this year follows the planned strategy.

Wallbox expects revenues in the second quarter of the year to reach between 35 and 38 million euros, while it has the objective of posting a gross margin of 40% in said period.

At the end of the year, the company estimates sales of between 175 and 205 million euros, which represents an approximate annual growth rate of between 145% and 190%.
