although in a way limited, Polestar expands the offer of what is currently the only electric car for sale. This is the Polestar 2 and the BST Edition 270 seriesa limited edition of the Swedish electric saloon in which the cycle part has been profoundly revised to offer a sportier behavior that is also accompanied by specific aesthetic details.
The name of this limited series comes from the word Beast (from English, Beast) and of the units that will make up this roll, since they will be a total of 270 units which the brand has decided to put on the market.
Although the brand says that the two electric motors have been improved to improve performance, the truth is that the numbers that accompany the technical sheet of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 are the same as those of the double motor Polestar 2 with Performance package, which which means that together both engines perform 350 kW (476 hp) and 680 Nm of torquedrawing energy from a 78 kWh capacity battery.
The most far-reaching changes, then, are in the cycle part and in the aesthetics. Under the body we find a new suspension 25 millimeters lower than normal thanks to two-way adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers specially developed for this model, with auxiliary adjustment cameras mounted under the hood.
To this is added a front brace, 20% stiffer springs and exclusive new matte black 21-inch alloy wheels inspired by the Polestar 1 wrapped in 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres, developed specifically for this car. Braking is performed by a brake system with Brembo 4-piston calipers.
In the aesthetic section, and as a complement to the lowering of the body height with respect to the ground and the 21-inch wheels, we find few but effective changes. Now the bumpers and side skirts are finished in the tone of the bodywork, which can be ordered at Thunder or Snow colors (gray and white, respectively), while for the interior there will only be an option called Charcoal WeaveTech.
There will be the option of adding a matte black stripe on the bodywork as an option, as well as satin Battleship Gray accents throughout the body. The side mirrors will be finished in gloss black, while the typical “Swedish gold” details of the firm are maintained, such as on the brake calipers, suspension, valve covers and seat belts.
for now Polestar has not released a specific price for this version. but urges those interested to express their interest on the official website of Polestar. Production of the BST Edition 270 series is scheduled to begin shortly with deliveries to take place during the third quarter.
