Although it seems that the process has taken longer than expected, finally the XPeng G9 starts its commercial stage. On August 10, the first units of the attractive electric SUV will go on sale. At the moment the price is unknown, although it is known that the company expects to make the first deliveries from next September. Everything indicates that it will become a bestseller, like its brothers.
The official presentation of the G9 took place at the end of last year. In the middle of last November, XPeng presented us with what is going to become its largest and heaviest model. Built on the X-EEA 3.0 platform The measurements of this D-SUV take us to 4.89 meters long, 1.94 meters wide and up to 1.68 meters high. To these levels must be added a wheelbase of three meters, which is expected to translate into a generous interior space.
The first Chinese customers will soon be able to start ordering their long-awaited units. The offer in China will revolve around different mechanical versions: RWD and Performance. A priori the differences between them will lie mainly in the mechanical section, although there are also aesthetic and technological differences. The most equipped models of the family will be able to count on advanced safety equipment based on state-of-the-art LiDAR radars.

Although there will be several versions at the mechanical level, the general scheme is shared by the range. The XPeng G9 features XPower 3.0 battery pack with Silicon Carbide (SiC) system with a voltage of 800 volts that allows accelerated charging times. With a recovery power of up to 480 kW, the XPeng G9 announces that it is capable of recovering up to 200 kilometers of autonomy in five minutes thanks to a thermal efficiency of 98%. At the moment the definitive size of the battery and the different possible options have not been announced.
In the absence of knowing the capacity of the stack, the access version, the G9 RWD It will have a single rear electric motor capable of offering 313 horsepower and up to 702 kilometers of autonomy (we imagine that under the NEDC approval cycle). The top version, the G9 Performancewill have two propellers, one on each axis, with a maximum power output of 551 horsepower and an estimated range of 650 kilometers. In both cases the top speed is restricted to 200 kilometers per hour.
Although XPeng expects to make the first deliveries from next September, has not yet ruled on the details of export to other markets such as Europe. In the old continent, the G9 would face, for price, general models such as the KIA EV6, the Skoda Enyaq, the Volkswagen ID.4 or the Ford Mustang Mach-e. Sales prices close to 60,000 euros are expected for the access versionbeing able to ascend up to 70,000 euros for the superior category model.
