The Solterra is a model of special importance to Subaru. It will not only be the first electric of the Japanese brand to reach dealerships, it will be the model that changes the direction of the company. His arrival is getting closer, though in territories such as the United States, it has already announced its sale prices: $45,000 as a launch. A quite interesting amount that raises a lot of expectation for its arrival in Europe.
About 42,000 euros to change represent a very competitive cost for an electric SUV signed with Toyota. The Solterra, the Lexus RZ and the Toyota bZ4X could be called brothers from different mothers. All three share the new e-TNGA platform designed particularly for electric models. Toyota and Subaru have been the first to use it, and soon the RZ will be added, which has already been announced, but will not arrive until the end of this year in our market.

The Solterra has not yet made public its prices for Spain, like the bZ4X. It must be taken into account that in Europe prices are on the rise, and therefore we cannot expect a cost in Spain similar to the American one.. In fact, a few months ago, Toyota announced that the bZ4X will have a starting price of 48,580 euros for the German market. A market that is even cheaper than the Spanish, where the units usually arrive with more complete equipment levels.
What can we expect from Solterra?
In just a few days the Subaru Solterra will be presented for the first time in Spain, thus kicking off its launch campaign. Although we know that it will have a starting price of more than 45,000 euros, there are still many details that remain to be known., such as the range of equipment that Subaru will offer or the possible optional elements. If we take into account the current strategy of the company, many technological customization options are not expected. You can imagine very closed packages that will hardly make a big difference aesthetically.

In terms of technology, there will be clear differences between the finishes. At its peak, the Solterra will be able to offer such interesting systems as digital instrumentation, multimedia system with screen up to 12.3 inches, Full LED headlights, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking cameras and a complete safety team collected under the umbrella of Eyesight technology with multiple driving assistants with level two autonomous driving. All this presented for a atypical driving position with a very low steering wheel and high instrumentation.
The Solterra will not only be Subaru’s first electric, but also its most complete model. In the mechanical field, the offer is made up of a 71.4 kWh capacity battery associated with two electric motors with a combined power of 218 horsepower and 336 Nm of torque, with a Approved autonomy of up to 460 kilometers. As expected being a Subaru, the Japanese present an all-wheel drive with various management programs. The X-Mode module will allow the driver to make the necessary adjustments depending on the terrain through which it circulates, offering a free height with respect to the ground of 21 centimeters.
