MG Motors is determined to be a brand with a strong presence on the European continent. After its association with the SAIC Group, the company is experiencing a second youth. With a range that mostly uses electrified systems, the MG EHS has become a benchmark in the plug-in hybrid segment. Last April, the SUV became the best-selling plug-in hybrid in our country, ahead of illustrious figures in the category.
The car market in Spain continues to decline given the difficult situations that the markets are going through. The lack of chips and other components is wreaking havoc on assembly lines. With production lines stopped, the units that end up reaching dealers are few, and that is where a brand like MG has managed to move like a fish in water. So much so that for the first time it places one of its vehicles at the top of the sales list.
The MG EHS is the firm’s only plug-in hybrid SUV. A product that is beginning to be seen more frequently in our streets. With a very reduced range, the EHS has a layout made up of a gasoline engine, a 16.6 kWh capacity battery and a front electric motor. With a maximum power of 258 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, the approved electric autonomy reaches 52 kilometersmore than enough to wear the DGT’s ZERO label.

If we look at sales, last April MG managed to enroll 241 EHS units, which directly raises him to the top of the list. Behind him have been models such as the DS 7 Crossback with 228 units and the Lynk & Co 01 with 202 units. Despite the general constriction of the market, the plug-in hybrid niche ended April with a rise of 42.6% compared to the same period last year.
But the excellent news for MG does not end there, since adding the entire range, last month the brand signed a total of 773 registrations, an absolute record for the brand in our country. So far this year, it has sold a total of 1,311 carswhich clearly demonstrates the excellent progress that MG has made in recent months thanks to an electrified fleet with an excellent value for money.
One of the main keys is the adjusted sale price. The MG EHS is available in the Spanish market with a starting price of 28,290 euros, with offers and discounts included. A price so adjusted that it allows it to be one of the cheapest plug-in hybrid SUVs on the market. With all the data on the table, the sales projection could not be better for MG, which so far this year has grown a whopping 2,575.51% compared to the first four months of last year.
