The Mercedes-AMG EQE already has a price in Germany: two versions with up to 687 hp

The two most powerful and performance versions of the electric Mercedes EQE are beginning to reach the European market, logically starting with its local market, Germany. We talk about the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4Matic Y EQE 53 4Matic+, two versions developed by the AMG division that not only come with more power, but also with numerous improvements at the chassis level. Mercedes has already announced the prices of the AMG EQE in Germany, which gives us the first clues about its price in Spain.

Like its big brother, the Mercedes EQS, the Mercedes EQE is built on the electric EVA2 platform. In the case of these AMG versions, they have an assortment of trinkets in the propeller, the running gear, the brakes and of course, in both the exterior and interior design, as well as an artificial sound specific to these sportier versions.

As we said, there will be two versions: both have two electric motors, 4Matic all-wheel drive and the same battery. The Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4Matic have 476 hp and 858 Nm of torque, does the 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches 210 km/h top speed. Homologates 534 kilometers of autonomy.

In the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ engines deliver 626 hp and 950 Nm of torque (687 hp and 1,000 Nm with the ‘Boost’ function), which allow it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds (3.3 seconds with the AMG DYNAMIC Plus package) and reach a top speed of 220 km/h ( 240 km/h with AMG DYNAMIC Plus package). In this case, it approves 526 kilometers of autonomy.

In both cases, the battery has a capacity of 90.6 kWh, made up of ten modules with a total of 360 bag-type cells. Supports fast charging at 170 kW of power in direct current.

The price of the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4Matic part from 103,827 euros in Germany. The most powerful version, the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4Matic+ with 626 hp, does the same from 109,777 euros.

How could it be otherwise, the two AMG versions of the EQE come with extra equipment, especially with regard to the cycle part. Both versions equip 4Matic all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution (the car analyzes the torque delivery 160 times per second), AMG Ride Control+ air suspension with adjustable dampingstiffer suspension arms and stabilizer bars and 50% stiffer bearings on the rear axle compared to non-AMG versions.

Both versions are equipped as standard with rear axle steering, with a steering angle of up to 3.6 degrees. At low speed the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction to the front wheels, and from 60 km/h they turn in the same direction.

also mounted a AMG high-performance brake system with six-piston calipers and 415mm brake discs on the front axle. The rear axle features single-piston brake calipers and 378mm brake discs. Optionally, ceramic brakes with 440×40 millimeter discs can be equipped at the front. To all this we must add the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT driving mode selector with five different programs: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual.

The icing on this cake is put by the Michelin Pilot Sport EV tirestires specifically designed for high-performance electric cars, measuring 265/40 R20 at the front and 295/35 R20 at the rear.

The exterior design also picks up characteristic AMG elements, such as the black grille with chrome uprights with integrated Mercedes star and “AMG” lettering. We also find a bumper with a specific design, a gloss black front splitter and speaking of the front, both versions are equipped with DIGITAL LIGHT headlights as standard. Add to that the AMG side sills in gloss black, the rear apron in the vehicle’s color with an aerodynamically optimized diffuser and a larger rear spoiler. According to Mercedes, the aerodynamic improvements allow rear lift to be reduced without “significantly” affecting aerodynamic drag.

Inside we have a space gray ARTICO artificial leather instrument cluster with NEOTEX grain and red stitching, MICROCUT black microfiber door center panels with red stitching, AMG Performance steering wheel in nappa leather, with flattened and perforated lower section, sport pedals AMG, AMG floor mats and door sill trims with AMG lettering.
