The Madrid City Council launches another aid package for the purchase of CERO, ECO and C cars

Madrid City Council seeks to reduce pollution in its streets, and for this it knows that it is important to support the purchase of low-emission vehicles. With this goal in mind, and within the program of the Plan Cambio 360, the local council launches aid for the renewal of private vehicles. A proposal endowed with a total budget of 10.5 million euros that can now be requested at participating dealers.

The Change 360 ​​Plan of the Madrid City Council seeks to renew the fleet of private vehicles. With a very pronounced aging of the fleet, the new mobility measures limit the circulation of vehicles without an environmental label. In addition to preventing circulation within the limits marked by the M-30, in the coming years the oldest cars in the capital will see their room for maneuver reduced even more. To facilitate the transition, an aid program is now launched with certain conditions.

The residents of Madrid will be able to receive up to 6,000 euros of aid for the purchase of a car with a ZERO label (electric or plug-in hybrid), and up to 3,000 euros for a vehicle with an ECO label. An additional discount of 2,500 euros can be added to these amounts if a vehicle without an environmental label is scrapped in the transaction. The greenest vehicles will not be the only ones to receive an aid package. Cars with a C label can also join the program with 2,500 euros of helpbut in that case it will be mandatory to scrap a vehicle with environmental classification A.

The grants can be requested directly at any of the dealers participating in the campaign. The dates establish a period between May 13 and June 27.. A month and a half to qualify for the aid, as long as the budget is not exhausted before. Following the requirements, the driver will only have to comply with the obligation to be registered in the municipality of Madrid, in addition to having the Mechanical Traction Vehicle Tax registered in the locality.

Given the success of the first call, activated last year, the Madrid City Council has increased the budget. Of the total of 10.5 million euros, 3 million have been reserved for the acquisition of CERO vehicles. Another 7 million will be used to finance the purchase of ECO vehicles, while the remaining half million will focus on aid for vehicles with a C label. In addition to the aid already mentioned, drivers can benefit from an additional 10% in the case of being people with reduced mobility or large family.
