The Renault Group announces the business results for the first six months of the year. A period of time in which the French firm highlights a strong presence of its range of E-Tech hybrid cars among total sales, as well as the increase in accumulated reserves of what is its most technological electric car, the Renault Megane E -Tech.
As Renault has announced, its E-Tech range, made up of models with hybrid and electric engines, has represented 36% of Renault’s passenger car sales in Europe during the first half of 2022.
A figure that shows a significant advance with respect to the 26% achieved in the first half of 2021. Among its models with electric technology, those with the highest volume monopolize the conventional hybrids, which in Europe have accumulated a total of 59,000 salesyes
The share, however, has increased due to a decrease in total sales achieved by the brand during this first part of the year. With 691,735 units registered, the sales of the French firm have fallen by 16.9% compared to last year. Globally, the brand’s worldwide sales reached 716,720 units.
Focusing on the European market, Renault has a 6.4% share thanks to 414,515 units sold, while Spain is positioned as the seventh most important country for the diamond brand, leading the same 6.4%.
The electric Renault Megane reaches 20,000 reservations
Taking advantage of the statement regarding its commercial results for the first half of the year, Renault has announced that the electric Megane continues with a good commercial rhythm. If the brand previously announced that the electric compact had reached the level of 10,000 reservations, now the Megane reaches 20,000 units.
It is a superlative increase that is extremely striking, even more so considering that the first 10,000 reservations for the Megane took months to reach, while the 20,000 units only took a few days to reach. It is true, however, that the arrival at dealerships of the Megane test units and its full appearance on the streets have helped catapult the number of reservations.
As revealed by Renault, most sales are concentrated on the EV60 versions, which with its 60 kWh battery and the multimedia system developed by Google Automotive Services represent the top of the range of the compact Fracé. This version offers a range of 450 kilometers, a power of 160 kW (220 hp) and has a starting price of €40,200.
