Nissan takes a further step in its European electrification strategy with the announcement of the prices of the Nissan Townstar, its compact van, among which, of course, are those of its electric version. This arrives in Spain with 300 kilometers of autonomy and at the moment, however, we only know the van format body price.
As specified by the web configurator of the Spanish division of Nissan, the most accessible version of the electric Townstar starts in our country from 34,500 euros. This is the price relative to the Professional variant. Above this are the Comfort and Premium versions, whose prices are 36,000 and 37,750 euros, respectively.
The Townstar is an electric van that shares technology and engineering with the Renault Kangoo, as well as with the incipient Mercdes-Benz EQT and the Mercedes e-Citan, which will be its professional version. The Townstar is thus based on the shared CMF-C platform and will be built at the Alliance plant for small vans in Maubeuge, France, in collaboration with Renault. The publication of the prices of the Nissan Townstar for Spain also coincides with the istart of its serial production.
The Nissan Townstar, therefore, relies on an electric motor of 90kW of power (equivalent to 122 hp) and 245 Nm of torque. It is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 45 kWh. With a full charge of it, it will be able to reach a range of up to 300 km.
Other aspects to rule out, and of special importance given its role as a commercial vehicle, are the cargo and towing capacity of the electric Townstar. have one payload up to 800 kilos and in the rear cargo space it can accommodate between 3.3 and 4.9 cubic meters of capacity depending on the version, with enough space to transport up to two Euro pallets. The towing capacity, meanwhile, is up to 1,500 kg.
Between equipment of the Nissan Townstar we find a multimedia system with a 10-inch touch screen, a driving assistance system ProPILOT Assist (a first for Nissan commercial vehicles), 360-degree camera, heated front seats, blind spot vehicle warning system, active cruise control, emergency brake assist with pedestrian detection, trailer anti-sway assist and heat pump, which increases efficiency in cold conditions.
Like the rest of Nissan’s light commercial vehicles, the electric Nissan Townstar has a 5-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty (whichever comes first) while there is an 8-year warranty for the battery if it were to show degradation. below 70%.
