Polestar is out: sales increase by 125% in the first half

In a short time Polestar has managed to establish itself as one of the most influential electric car companies on the market. With just a few years of life, Geely’s electric firm, positioned next to Volvo, has attracted many buyers thanks to its excellent value for money. The Polestar 2 garners as good reviews as sales. In the first half of the year Polestar increased deliveries by 125% compared to the same period last yearwhich encourages managers to achieve the expected volume at the end of the year.

These are not easy times to sell cars. After the 2020 pandemic, the market has changed a lot. Restrictions, supply shortages, conflicts, inflation and Europe’s energy crisis are wreaking havoc on company sales. Selling a car is much more difficult now than it was a few years ago, and even more so when it comes to a new company that has only been on the world markets for a few months.

However, this has not been inconvenient for in the first half of the year Polestar has made a total of 21,200 deliveries worldwide. It is a modest figure, but if we compare it with last year we see that the company has doubled its deliveries compared to the same period in 2021, when it was barely available in a few markets. Today Polestar is present in 25 countries, which has allowed it to expand its client portfolio and the volume of deliveries. Everything indicates that the estimates for 2022 will finally be fulfilled.

At the beginning of the year, company directors set themselves the goal of selling 50,000 cars worldwide. It is a very modest figure if we compare it with other electric car manufacturers such as Tesla or Volkswagen, but it is a good figure if we take into account the youth of the brand and that it only has the help of a single model, the Polestar 2. Sales have not been the only thing that has grown in the first half, as orders and reservations have also grown by 350% compared to 2021, almost reaching the goal of 75,000 annual orders.

The brand’s image is good, and it knows the importance of the Polestar 2, which is expected to be its biggest source of income in the coming years. Looking ahead to successive courses, the compact crossover will feature the presence of the company’s future models: Polestar 3, Polestar 4 and Polestar 5. The disembarkation will be carried out in stages, with 3 being the first to arrive this year and 5 the last to do so with its high performance. With this strategy, everything indicates that Polestar will continue to grow in the coming years.
