New electric FIAT E-Doblò: versions, autonomy, load capacity and equipment

Stellantis’ electric van offering continues to grow. Now it’s the turn of the new FIAT E-Doblòthe third all-electric vehicle from FIAT (and at the same time, from FIAT Professional), a battery-powered van that will be manufactured in Spain along with their cousins the Citroën ë-Berlingo, Peugeot e-Partner and e-Rifter, in addition to the foreigner Toyota Proace City.

The fifth generation of the FIAT Doblò It comes with an electric version under the arm, how could it be otherwise. FIAT plans to offer a fully electric range from 2027, for which it is necessary to start preparing now. The new FIAT E-Doblò represents a double milestone for the Italian manufacturer: it is the brand’s third electric model, after the 500 electric and the FIAT E-Ulysee, and also the third FIAT Professional electric vehicle, after the E- Ducato and E-Scudo.

The new FIAT E-Doblò will be available in Combi, Crew Cab and van versions

As you may have already imagined, the new FIAT E-Doblò It will be marketed with a passenger and van version. It will be available in two lengths and three different configurations: Van (van), Crew Cab and Combi (passenger). The short or standard body versions measure 4.4 meters in length, while the larger versions reach 4.75 meters in length.

A modern van cannot be understood without a good portion of practical solutions. In this sense, the new E-Doblò offers a good assortment, for example the digital interior rear view mirror (Magic Mirror) with three different views; the bidirectional charger (Magic Plug) to charge the charging fridge or a workbench for power tools; or the Magic Cargowhich allows to increase by 0.5 m3 in cargo volume and the possibility of loading long objects -such as pipes or ladders- of up to 3.4 m in cargo length. Additionally, it is also possible to raise the passenger seat and use the compartment below for boxes or fragile objects and thanks to a rotating tray, the Doblò’s cabin can be converted into a mobile office.

You can also equip the Magic Top, a panoramic roof with a transparent shelf below that provides more storage space to those already scattered in the doors, glove box, center console, etc. Optionally it can be equipped with a folding rear window, also “magic”, in the rear door (called Magic Window).

The passenger version has 5 seats, with 3 individual seats in the second row that can be folded to increase cargo capacity. The three seats in the second row have an Isofix system for fixing child seats. For its part, in the FIAT E-Doblò Van (van) fit 2 euro pallets in the cargo box, you can carry up to 800kg payload and offers a 4.4m maximum cargo volume3 in the long wheelbase version. The towing capacity is 750 kg.

A well-known electric drive with 136 hp and 280 km of autonomy

The electric drive of the new FIAT E-Doblò is already a old acquaintance, since it is the same as the Citroën ë-Berlingo, Citroën ë-SpaceTourer, Fiat E-Ulysse, Opel Combo-e Life, Opel Vivaro-e, Peugeot e-Partner, Peugeot e-Rifter, Peugeot e-Traveller and the Toyota Proace City. It is an electric motor with 136 hp (100 kW) of maximum power and 260 Nm of torque which is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a 50 kWh capacity, which allows it to homologate 280 kilometers of autonomy in the WLTP cycle.

Van version has up to 800kg payload capacity

The new E-Doblò has fast charge in direct current at 100 kW of maximum power, which allows charging 80% of the battery in 30 minutes. There are three driving modes (Normal, Eco and Power) and the maximum speed is limited to 130 km/h.

It will be manufactured in the Stellantis factory in Vigo

The new FIAT Doblò is equipped with a good supply of active safety systems and driving assistants. The passenger version comes standard with traffic sign recognition, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane keeping assist and driver fatigue detection.

On the other hand, the Van version is equipped with hill descent control and the Grip Control System, which offers greater traction in all conditions, such as snow, mud or sand. The new FIAT E-Doblò, as well as the Doblò with thermal engines, will be manufactured at the Stellantis plant in Vigo (Galicia, Spain). FIAT has not yet announced the prices for Spain of its new electric van.
