Hyundai’s most radical electric car faces its last tests before being presented

The division n Hyundai is finalizing the development of its most radical and performance model to date, which will also come in the form of an electric car. Its about Ioniq 5Na model that has been photographed in the vicinity of the old circuit of Nurburgringwhere it is facing its last phases of development before being presented.

Under normal circumstances, when it comes to a model whose main objective is to be efficient, one of the last tests that its prototypes undergo takes place in extreme climates, in which we have already seen the Ioniq 5 N.

However, given the radical and pretentious sports facet of the model, its tests have one more phase than any other model on its calendar with an extensive number of laps at the Nürburgring circuit, where the engineers and drivers of the Hyundai sports firm have verified that, presumably, the Ioniq 5 can withstand the demanding use to which, based on its concept, they aim.

Regarding its technical part, the Ioniq 5 N will borrow from the EV6 GT its electrical schematicthus becoming the most radical and powerful model that Hyundai has manufactured by far, as is the case with the KIA model.

An aspect that makes one think that, effectively, the Ioniq 5 N will use the same 585 hp that the EV6 GT is that they have been photographed together during the testing phase of the first of them, probably comparing the benefits in real circumstances between both models.

The 585 hp that the Ioniq 5 will yield will be obtained from two electric motors, one stationed on each axle, through which it will achieve total traction, although Hyundai could go a step further in terms of power to differentiate itself more from its group brother. . The battery from which both engines will be powered will be the one with the highest capacity that the e-GMP platform can house, the 77.4 kWh.

In the version with greater autonomy, the electric Ioniq 5 will be able to cover more than 500 kilometers based on the WLTP cycle when consumption with this new battery is officially approved. For the N version of the Korean electric, however, due to the superlative power escalation, we can expect the autonomy to drop to even the 400 kilometer barrier.

About this future model, Hyundai has hardly confirmed anything officially beyond its arrival on the market, for which there is still no specific date. However, based on the state of development of the model, everything points to We’ll see before the end of the year.
