Days ago, Hyundai began the electrification of its sports division N with the presentation of two conceptual models, the RN22e and Ioniq N Vision 74. However, the model that promises to hit the streets first is the most extreme variant of the Ioniq 5 N, who has just been caught in a Korean parking lot revealing various details about her approach.
Although it is still camouflaged, and as we could see in the latest spy photos that had the electric Ioniq 5 as the protagonist, the vinyl that covers the body does not manage to hide a body that leaves behind the crossover-type additions to give way to some muscular shapes that will be responsible for making the Ioniq 5 N an electric car much more intimidating than the conventional model.
This aspect about the exterior design has been known for a long time, but now the novelty is that for the first time we have been able to have access to the interior of the Ioniq 5 N, in which radical bucket seats are the main novelty. To tell the truth, only the driver’s seat corresponds to a seat of this type, but if it is equipped in the test unit, and even if the passenger’s seat is a conventional seat, it is to be expected that the brand will offer, at least as an option , a sports-type seat.
And it is that, since it is expected that the Ioniq 5 N has a power of at least 585 CV, both the cycle part and the interior of the model have to correspond to such a power figure. If Hyundai does not stand out with respect to the technical scheme of the KIA EV6 GT, the Ioniq 5 N will have a dual electric motor scheme with which it will be able to reach a maximum speed of between 250 and 270 kilometers per hour, and mark a zero at hundred in less than 4 seconds. The EV6 GT does the same in 3.5 seconds.
With the confirmation of this range of performance electric cars from the N division, Hyundai certifies that nothing remains of the affordable character brand it was in the late 90s and early 20th century. It is now one of the most powerful automobile groups in the world, and its electric technology (which also has replicas in KIA) is at the forefront of the market.
As officially confirmed by the Korean firm, this radical variant of the electric Ioniq 5 is expected to hit the market during 2023.
