Despite its price and not having hit the streets, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is almost sold out

An almost unique concept is responsible for what has made the Volkswagen ID. Buzz is only 5,000 units away from filling the entire production that the brand has planned for this 2022. This has been made known by one of the managers of Volkswagen in a recent internal communication, in which he details to the employees how the commercial performance of the ID is taking place. Buzz during his first few months.

The Volkswagen ID. Buzz was presented last March, and since then what is the first electric van to arrive from the Volkswagen Group has managed to get 10,000 customers to stamp their signature to formalize their purchase. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October.

With 15,000 units planned for production During this 2022, that 10,000 of them are already awarded means that two thirds of the total is already covered. Volkswagen will presumably exhaust the entire quota before reaching the end of the year.

Among the countries from which the most orders are registered for the ID. Buzz is, of course, Germany, with a total of 2,500 units, although it is the market where the Volkswagen electric van has penetrated the strongest, since Norway is going for 2,500 registrations. Other leading markets for ID. Buzz in its first months available are the Netherlands, with 1,100 reservations, followed by Belgium, with another 1,000 reservations.

All this despite two aspects that clearly condition the scope of ID. Buzz. On the one hand, there is the fact that it has not yet reached the streets, so its scope is currently restricted to the virtual circle with articles like this one, or to Volkswagen’s own advertising. Nor has the order book been opened for key markets, such as the American or Chinese.

On the other hand, there is the factor of its price, since the most accessible version of the electric van sets its starting rate at 61,775 euros, which also does not allow their private buyers to opt for the Moves III Plan and its up to 7,000 euros bonus. The special launch version, called 1st Edition, goes up to 71,425 euros.

the ID Buzz is also offered in a commercial vehicle format, where due to a simpler configuration it is somewhat more affordable. In this specification it is called ID. Buzz Cargo, and equipping the same electric motor and battery pack, 204 CV of power and 77 kWh of capacitypart of 56,145 euros.
