The next generation of the model will be called Citroen C3 2023, and it is expected to arrive at the end of that same year. How could it be otherwise, it will have a pure electric version under the name Citroen ë-C3 2023, and in any case, it will use the same technology that the Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa already have. In other words, it will be built on the CMP platform of the Stellantis automobile group.
This CMP platform on which the new Citroen C3 2023 is being built is a multi-energy platform, which means that it is compatible with gasoline engines, but also with pure electrical mechanics. It is the same technology as the Peugeot 208 and the Opel Corsa, so in its electric version, it will have a single 136 hp electric motor, a 50 kWh capacity battery, and a range of approximately 350 kilometers. And as for the thermal versions, they will only be available with gasoline engines and there will be no diesel options.
What do we expect from the Citroen C3 2023 and its electric version?
In this recreation of design, Caradisiac bets on the continuous evolution of design; in fact, the changes at the aesthetic level should be rather few. The most relevant thing is that, although it would be logical to use the same technology as the electric Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa, there are indications that two different versions could be used. Specifically, there is talk of electric motors of approximately 50 and 80 CV, compared to the 136 CV motor of these two models, and two batteries of approximately 30 and 40 kWh capacity. That is, much less than the 50 kWh of the Opel and Peugeot.
If so, the truth is that its characteristics would be well below those offered by the Peugeot and Opel models, but with this, they could allow themselves to aim for a much lower price, which after all is Citroen role within the Stellantis group. And this information comes from France, so they may be right. And despite that smaller battery, because it weighs less and has less powerful engines, it could still reach around 300 kilometers of autonomy without too much difficulty.

One of the key points will be the interior, with a more striking and ‘colored’ design than the Peugeot and Opel models, but with lower technology at the multimedia screen level and other aspects, and with simpler plastics. All this will favor, as usual in Citroen, the prices of the Citroen C3 2023 to be cheaper in its electric versions. The gasoline versions will remain with the 1.2 PureTech engine and with the same power, but with electrification to adapt to the new European regulations.
